Where are we?

In my living room – it’s where the biggest mirror is. And the floor is my make-up station. I’d like to say it’s a glam set-up, but it’s not!

What are you wearing?

I’m always in a tracksuit and barefoot. I can’t be trusted to have my outfit on, because I’ll get chicken down it.

Why? What are you eating?

Normally a Nando’s. And there’s usually a cup of strong tea and chocolate digestives, too. And then I wonder why I can’t zip up my dress.

What are you listening to?

It tends to be a female power ballad by the likes of Tina Turner, Gloria Estefan or Little Mix.

How long have you got?

It doesn’t matter, really. I do enjoy getting dressed up for events, but it’s not a ritual for me and I don’t eke out every second. I just get it done.

Any whizz-bang make-up tools?

I learnt to use a toothbrush on my brows from my nan, Hazel. I like them feral.

Was hair maintenance an issue in lockdown?

I coloured it myself for the first time! In fact, I got my boyfriend Kevin [Clifton, her partner on Strictly] to do it and he wasn’t bad. I’d always steered clear, but the situation meant I had to. I’ve now saved so much money. I can take my colour – Clairol Nice ’N Easy Permanent Hair Dye in 8WR Golden Auburn – to work, which is brilliant.

Anything we’d be surprised to find in your make-up stash?

Old chewing gum in a receipt!

Is there one product you always have to hand?

Batiste On The Go Dry Shampoo.

What’s your go-to look?

I’m quite relaxed and live in loungewear. I like my hair pulled back or loose, gold hoops in, then NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer for my spots.

Nails: DIY or pro job?

I’m useless at nails, so I get them done. I recently had white nails and Kevin thought I had Tippex on, but I loved them.

Let’s play ‘Beauty would you rather’: Lashes OR lips?

Lashes, with brown mascara! I worked at Luton Airport and a chic, regular traveller always wore brown, so I’ve copied her ever since.
