Pink locks are in!

First it was baking banana bread, then it was the foot-tapping TikTok dance routine. Now it seems that you’re not self-isolating correctly unless you dye your hair pink! In fact, some DIY hair colour brands have seen their sales of pink dye increase by 160%! If you fancy giving it a go, why not try one of our faves, Lee Stafford Bleach Blondes Kiss Of Colour in Playful Pink. It acts like an intensive conditioning treatment, as well as giving bleached and natural blondes a wash of baby pink.

The wearing of face coverings will be mandatory on public transport in England from 15 June, so we’re ensuring we have ours at the ready. And it’s great news that Boots now stocks a variety of protective masks, including fluid-resistant Soft Loop 3 Ply Face Masks 50-pack, which can filter 98% of bacteria. Buying in bulk for your workplace? You can also get bundles of 200 and 300. Boots will soon be increasing their face-covering ranges to include reusable masks, too. Sign up here to be the first to know when they drop.

Another day, another video call. Whether it’s a work conference hook-up or a virtual pub quiz, we’re all guilty of obsessing over how we look on webcam. In fact, 91% of people admit to constantly staring at their faces on video calls and subsequently worrying and obsessing about their skin. If this includes you, help boost your confidence with these heroes: No7 The Full 360 Ultra Mascara will wake your eyes sharpish, while a spritz of Boots Glow Brightening Mist over a dull complexion can help skin look radiant. Break-outs? NYX Professional Makeup Born To Glow Radiant Concealer has a no-fuss applicator and impressive coverage.

Meet the humble ingredient that’s getting a lot of attention in the beauty world: oats. Whether you are a porridge devotee, flapjack lover or can’t go without your oat-milk latte, these beauty products are oaty-licious and have comforting benefits. Use Aveeno Lotion With Natural Colloidal Oatmeal and let the colloidal oatmeal help soothe dry and sensitive skin. The oat kernel oil in The Inkey List Oat Cleansing Balm will help plump up skin and leave it looking dewy. And for hair that needs some TLC, wash with Garnier Ultimate Blends Oat Milk Sensitive Scalp Shampoo.

WFH: shock findings

Turns out that we’re not the only ones who didn’t understand our partner’s job until we had to work from home (WFH) at the same time and in the same space! New research has revealed that a whopping 46% of us were clueless, other than knowing they worked in an office and had lots of meetings. LOL. More insights include:

• 54% say that their partner has a ‘phone voice’ (nearly a quarter think it’s posh and a fifth find it hilarious)

• 32% reckon their other half’s job is interesting

• 29% think their significant other works harder than them

But, there have been a few drawbacks: an eighth reckon there’s too much corporate jargon (we won’t take a deep dive into that!); a fifth have disagreed over room temperature; and 18% have argued about the choice of background music. Before you fall out over Spotify playlists, check out how to Covid-proof your relationship.
