What’s the new buzz?

We’re all into playing with toys, it seems – and we’re not talking Lego. Lockdown seems to have unleashed our appetite for self-pleasure – searches for bedroom toys are up by 72% in the UK (though that pales in comparison to those saucy Brazilians, whose demand for sex toys has risen 126%). Curiosity piqued? Check out the extensive range of adult toys available now at Boots. It’s time to lie back and forget about Covid…

 Your fun family fix

If your home is a bit… chaotic at the moment, you’re definitely not alone. But to mark Mental Health Awareness Week, BBC Children In Need has teamed up with Boots to create an interactive 14-day wellbeing planner that the whole family can get involved with. Designed to encourage good mental health and positive affirmations, there are drawing challenges, a personality puzzle, breathing exercises and more. Why not print it out, stick it on the fridge and let the good times roll… We hope you’ll be feeling more Zen after the two weeks! Say, ‘Ommmm’.

Press-on perfection

If, like us, you’re missing your manicurist and have turned to DIY, then press-on nails have got your back. You don’t need a steady hand or an array of polish options, just pick a style you love and press them on. Elegant Touch Core Colour False Nails In Coral Crush are the perfect shade for sunnier weather, and we love their short stiletto-shape and glossy finish. It seems even Chrissy Teigen’s a big fan, after she posted a series of Instagram stories praising them and telling fans they ‘changed her life’. *Orders now*

Beauty sleep with benefits

A good night’s sleep is always important, but never more so than in times of stress and anxiety (ie. now!). And thanks to some new night-time-focused beautifying products, you’re able to make your snooze-time work even harder. Take Estée Lauder Pure Color Envy Nighttime Rescue Lip Oil-Serum – a gorgeous, silky serum that would be bit too greasy for during the day, but overnight it has time to sink into lips, leaving them super soft by morning. (The packaging is Insta-worthy too – just sayin’). And then there’s Too Faced Hangover Pillow Cream. This rich cream is packed with all the good stuff like avocado oil, vitamin B, coconut water and mango seed butter to help hydrate the skin. Slather a layer all over and let it get to work while you catch up on some Zzz’s.

NHS heroes

Our NHS heroes are going above and beyond every day and one nurse in particular has caught the nation’s heart. Leona Harris, who works at Fairfield General Hospital in Bury, Lancashire, could see how hard it was for her Covid-19 patients not seeing their families, so she launched a fundraiser to buy iPads and tablets for patients to call home and see their loved ones. She set out to raise £25k, but her fundraising total on her JustGiving page is at £39k and rising. It’s the kind of heartwarming story we can’t get enough of right now!
