Bombshell Blonde

Glossy, polished and natural-looking, Billie Eilish should be the poster girl for this coveted blonde hair colour. Easy to maintain, it’s also a suits-everyone shade, flattering most skin tones with its warm creamy undertones. #winning. Plus, because it doesn’t need a white, blonde base to begin with, even those with darker hair can indulge.

“This creamy blonde has always been one of my favourites! It has just enough warmth to look natural while still feeling really polished. We’ve definitely seen more people asking for this look in salon over the last few months,” says Alex Bronswell, colourist and co-founder of Bleach.

All hair is different! We recommend a single Bleach Kit for 6-8 week roots and at least two Bleach Kits for everything else. For toners and Super Cool Colours, we recommend one kit / bottle for roots and short hair, and at least two for everything else. Always add an extra kit / bottle if you have thick hair or you’re not sure!

DIY IT:

Step 1: Bleach it up, baby

If you do need to lighten your hair, use Plex Bleach to create the perfect yellow-blonde base. You can see a step by step here and before you rinse, check your hair has lifted to a warm yellowy colour using a scrape test (where you run your fingers over the hair to get rid of the product so you can see the colour). Once you’re satisfied, shampoo thoroughly with Beer Shampoo.

Step 2: Time to tone

Apply Champagne Super Toner all over your freshly bleached hair to banish brassy tones and neutralise any yellowy orange tinges. Smoosh it in, applying more as you go to make sure every strand is covered. Rinse.

Step 3: Go crazy for that colour

Slather on White Heat Super Cool Colour for a creamy, glossy blonde finish and mega conditioning power. Give it another good smoosh to make sure the hair is soaking it up. Rinse and finish!

Step 4: Remember to maintain

Cleanse your hair with nourishing Beer Shampoo, which is packed with yeast proteins and will keep your hair strong and silky. Then, use White Heat once a week in place of your conditioner to keep brassy tones at bay and your blonde looking bright and luminous. Top up every 3-4 weeks with your Champagne Super Toner. Voila, you’re officially a blonde bombshell.

Top tool-kit: Plex Bleach, Champagne Super Toner, White Heat Super Cool Colour (in-store only), Beer Shampoo (in-store only).

Choose 1 kit or bottle for roots and very short hair, 2 kits or bottles for short hair, 3+ kits or bottles for longer hair. Add an extra kit or bottle if your hair is very thick.

Butter Blonde

Crème caramel, honeycomb, butterscotch, you name it, this mouth-watering blonde is delicious and delectable. Making hair look sunkissed and healthy, it’s no surprise Margot Robbie has just opted for a dye job in the beachy blonde shade. Low maintenance and ideal for blending out root regrowth for a lived-in look, if you long for a mood-boosting blonde that’s more undone than done, you’ve just met your match.

“Honey blonde will never be out of fashion. Anyone with blonde ambitions will suit this golden shade: it makes bleached hair look super healthy and can be as high or low maintenance as you like. This really is a feel good colour – it always reminds me of summer and spending time in the sun,” says Alex.

DIY IT:

Step 1: Bleach it up baby

Need to prelighten? Plex Bleach is your secret weapon and will transform your hair into a yellow blonde base. Watch a step by step here and before you rinse, check your hair has lifted to the correct colour. Once you’re satisfied, shampoo thoroughly with Beer Shampoo.

Step 2: Time to tone

Banish any brassines by smooshing in Champagne Super Toner all over your freshly bleached hair. Ensure every strand is covered before you wash it away.

Step 3: Go crazy for that colour

Slather on Just Like Honey Super Cool Colour to create that buttery blonde finish. As well as adding a golden tint, it turns any brassy bits to gold to give hair a midas touch. Super conditioning, give it one more smoosh so no bits of hair are left untouched then rinse.

Step 4: Remember to maintain

Wash your hair with Beer Shampoo and keep hair strong and nourished and swap your conditioner once a week for your Just Like Honey. Why? To fight the fade and keep brassiness at bay of course. Then top up your Champagne Super Toner every 3-4 weeks.
