Where are we?

In my apartment in London – it’s a dream to live in the UK. I have an amazing bathroom and that’s where I get ready.

What are you wearing?

I’m in my very smart loungewear: a matching top and bottoms in aubergine purple. The outfit is always the last thing to go on.

Anyone with us?

Sometimes my best friend, Graziano Di Prima [a fellow Strictly pro dancer], will be with me. And if I’m going somewhere that requires more of ‘a look’, I’ll use my make-up artist.

What are you listening to?

It can be anything from [South African musician] Zanzi to my ultimate Pride anthem playlist, featuring Conchita Wurst, Kylie – who gives me life – and Anastasia, who is all things amazing.

Anything we’d be surprised to find in your make-up stash?

Haribo sweets! They are everywhere at Strictly.

Is there one product you always have to hand?

Vaseline Lip Therapy in Aloe. I hate dry skin, so I put this on my lips, elbows and feet. A little goes a long way.

The best beauty trick someone else has taught you?

My hairstylist on Strictly braids my hair and applies edge-control cream. It makes the hair fall so beautifully and helps to keep braids neat.

Any product you wear on stage and IRL?

Fenty Beauty Pro Filt’r Soft Matte Longwear Foundation (32ml). It creates a perfectly matte effect and doesn’t look like you’ve broken a sweat – even when you have.

Do you like what you see in the mirror?

Definitely. When I’m prepping for Strictly, I’m at the peak of my physical appearance. When I’m not, I can indulge – I’m a foodie. But whatever stage you’re at, you have to accept how you are and be kind to yourself.

Fancy fragrance OR au naturel?

There’s nothing sexier than someone’s own smell, but I do wear K by Dolce & Gabbana when I go out.
